I took a few days off over the weekend just to let my illustrative xen get it's shit back together (read: I had a freak-out concerning future career prospects and the overal fact that a career in illustration/design isn't easy for some...I thought about sacking it all in for a steady 9-5 job for a while...then my girlfriend kicked my arse back into shape with a motivational talk).

So this image best sums up my weekend...

(Beers and stuff are on top of the table whilst my box of paints and art stuff is under it....clever metaphor huh?)

Anywayyyyyyyys, freak-out over and back into the swing of things. Tally ho.

Some more Platform work (and some old Platform work) with colour alterations and the Expos logo. I'm pleased with them.

Also picked up my new business cards today

I was really happy with the way they turned out...sent an excited text to another illustrator reccommending the guys who printed them for me....and then...I noticed a complete area of the design just hadn't been printed! Whaaaat???!!! There's supposed to be an explodey-looking pink shape in front of the skull...looks like the printer missed out the colours...or they screwed up my psd file. No idea.

They still look great though and they'll be generously bombing every shop, boutique, pub, club, bar, toilet and office I can get them into :)

Platform Expos/Garthwest Creative

Finally some substance.

I'm collaborating with Garthwest Creative and a group of designers to stick together the Platform Expos events happening in Hull on the 27th March. I'm basically sending off sketches which are then being coloured and vectored by (ex Level-87) Mike Tierney...and he's doing an amazing job on them too! Here's an example...

My coloured versions were a bit too psycha-feckin-dellic for the printers apparently...woops...they're still making the portfolio cut though! :D

I'll get the other 6+ uploaded when they're done. Gotta get cracking on with them.

I've got some personal projects on the go too (it's nice to finally have some time to do my own stuff) including some paintings...watch this space!
