Respite (In progress)

Here's some colour builds of the portrait that's giving me a break from other stuff.

And after much deliberation on whether I should be green or not I decided yes and screwed the whole colour scheme over and gave it a more active background. I love leaving things for a few days and coming back to it later haha! More updates on stuff to come soon.......there'll be some big news :D

Respite

A few progressive panels. Just showing you how it's coming along. This is the only bit of a break I'm getting from working on mural designs. Gah.

More murals coming soon!

I've been invited to do two more murals, both in new bars which are opening up in Hull city centre. One I'm tackling by myself, the other is for a country western themed bar I'll be working on with fellow artists Matt Hemsworth , Snapper52 and Dom Li. One thing I've learnt is that designing murals is a lot feckin harder than actually painting them! Anways, here's some very quick roughs I did for the bar I'm working on by myself...

Very graphic-y...not my style at all but it speaks to the clients well enough. I'm getting a body model in to pose against the wall whilst I draw/paint around her to get the proportions right. The silhouetted girls should be quick and easy to fill in. The "DANCE" bubble background is likely to change, I really want to get some free-hand doodles in there just to make it more fun. This thing has to stretch across about 8-10 metres of wall...which also goes down a staircase. Anyway, that's it for now. Got to get drawing some cowboys for the western bar.

Also, to keep myself sane and to take a break from sitting at the desk all day I'm working on another large scale drawing.

It's me! :D Because I'm such a vain B-stard.

1700 miles :)

Quick coloured more finalized version. Made the chin smaller. Now back to working on stuff for other people!

Bang Tydee.

Hey blog, I'm back with some progressives again. This time it's a portrait.
I'm using a new technique with this that I've never really got into before. Instead of only using the final inked-up drawing I'm using elements from 3 different progressive scans. Doing this I hope to play with line density and tone and blah blah blah by using two mediums; pencil and pen.

Anyways I'm still having a play around to see what combinations work best but I'll get back to you soon. Maybe I'll get some good effects from the shitty paper quality too (artgasm over¬_¬).

"Drum & Bass Saved My Life"

Just a stupid little thing I wanted to get out of the way whilst I've been working on other things. Might revisit it one day and think more about the text. For now, night x

UBD obviously picked up my email at a show so I thought I'd give it a try :)

Samurai

There's no clever context or anything behind this. I just wanted to draw some primates going at each other with swords. Brutal...but pretty. Still working on this, just posted it to show I'm still alive. More stuff to come soon!

Fuzz likes it rough.as.fuck.

Hi blog. Literally got home from the airport just over an hour ago and I had to upload a few roughs I did when I was away for things that are in the works at the moment. Including the first character concept (or the first I'm going to actually release) for Ashlad, which is the bottom image. More to come soon and as expected from me I'll get a few work-in-progress boards up within the next week.

As for now I'm jet-lagged something stupid and need sleep.

Night.
